Infomart

The Infomart is one of the most distinctive buildings in Dallas, having been designed to resemble the Glass Palace in London. The roof on the Infomart was replaced after a premature failure of the loose-laid, ballasted PVC roof. The drainage design was extremely complicated because the original cast-in-place concrete roof deck was designed to be a future floor. The deck was flat with permanent deflection and significant standing water. The architectural filigree at the perimeter and the glass vault limited the curb heights and the ability to install a typical tapered insulation system. The drainage problems were resolved by adding drains at the perimeter and tapering in the field.
